Exhibits
Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery was established in 1999 to provide emerging and established Latino artists a venue in which to display their art work, as well as a place for the community to celebrate and learn about Latino culture through visual arts.
Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery continues to invite all artists to exhibit works that explore themes important to the Latino culture. We strive to educate the public about the importance of the arts and bring together many cultures within our community.

Cuatro Cuadrado
September 3 – 18
First Friday Opening Reception: September 3rd, 6–9 p.m.
Cuatro Cuadrado is a new group exhibit with somewhat of a twist. Participating artists will choose from precut and measured canvas or panel in 4”x4”, 8”x8” or 12”x12” sizes. This exhibit is open to all artists and invites them to use the format given without limitation on theme or content. Artists are encouraged to further explore the exhibit title by investigating cultural meanings of the number 4. For example, in both Native American and Latin American cultures the number 4 represents the 4 cardinal directions which is highly spiritual and in many Asian cultures the number 4 is seen as unlucky.
