The Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery was established in 1999 to provide emerging and established Latino artists a venue in which to display their art work, as well as a place for the community to celebrate and learn about Latino culture through visual arts. In 2022, the new Mattie Rhodes Cultural Center was completed at 1701 Jarboe, KCMO 64108, just one block away from our previous gallery space.
At the new Cultural Center, Mattie Rhodes continues to invite all artists to exhibit works that explore themes important to the Latino culture. We strive to educate the public about the importance of the arts and bring together many cultures within our community. Contact 816-221-2349 for more information on our exhibits.
First Friday artist receptions are held most First Fridays of the month beginning at 6:00pm, including refreshments, music and other entertainment. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
Pre-scheduled Tours are a great way to get the most out of an exhibit! Let us guide you through our current exhibit and share cultural and historic details. Afterwards, it’s your turn to be creative! Participate in an art activity designed specifically for the exhibit. Join us for this fun and educational opportunity! Pre-scheduled tour hours are Tuesday – Friday, 12 – 5pm or Saturday 12 – 6pm for groups of 10 or more. Contact 816-221-2349, to schedule.
