Mattie Rhodes Center is a nonprofit organization celebrating its 131st year of serving the Greater Kansas City community. We are committed to building a stronger city by working toward the vision of living in a vibrant community where all individuals and families are healthy, safe and have the resources to thrive.

How Mattie Rhodes Center Helps Our Community

Mattie Rhodes Center provides a holistic approach to individual and family well being through social services, behavioral health counseling and the arts.

Our staff provides culturally competent programming in the following five areas:

Community Behavioral Health

Taking care of your mental health is essential for overall well-being and seeking help for your mental health is an important step. MRC can help children, individuals, couples and families. Every year, our bilingual (English/Spanish) team serves more than 1,000 individuals who live in Jackson County, Missouri and the surrounding metro area.

Youth Developement

MRC offers a variety of youth and young adult programs focused on character building, social-emotional learning, and violence prevention. MRC also provides early childhood education programs that support academic growth and creativity through arts education.

Community Economic Development

Community economic development programs are designed to develop, utilize and cultivate resources and opportunities for neighborhood residents and leaders. Currently, we focus on workforce development programs including digital literacy support, financial literacy classes and more.

Cultural Arts

Our goal is to bridge cultures within the community through the visual arts as well as celebrate the Latino culture, history and traditions

Public Health

Mattie Rhodes’ Public Health Services aim to increase accessibility and affordability of healthcare among low-income and uninsured individuals.

Public Safety

MRC’s public safety programs work together to promote violence intervention and prevention, provide substance abuse treatment, and connect families who are victims of violence with essential resources.
